The Soursop, the magical fruit
Soursop is the fruit of soursop (Annona muricata, family Annonaceae).
It measures up to 30 cm long and can weigh up to 4 or 5 kg.
Its exterior is dark green, its bark thorns pricked.
Its flesh is white and fleshy with black seeds (indigestible).
In Brazil, this fruit is called graviola, sapodilla and the island of La Reunion (from the name of
the fruit in India, Sapadille), also called soursop in English, in guanabana, Spanish, or, mang-
cau Vietnam or yet thu-riankhaek Thailand.
Soursop fruit is an energy with high carbohydrate content.
It is rich in vitamin C, which facilitates the absorption of iron (also present in soursop).

The sweet taste of soursop allows to consume wild without adding sugar. It is also eaten as fruit
salad, juice or sherbets and even cooked like in Indonesia flan or gratin.
Peeled and stripped of its seeds, soursop can also be cooked.
Therapeutic Properties
Soursop name comes from Dutch "zuur zak", meaning sour fruit. Parts of the plant began to flower, leaf, fruit, seeds, bark, and roots can be used as traditional medicine.

Traditional uses
The infusion of the leaves of soursop helps digestion. 1 glass after meals
Against insomnia, use a sweet infusion from March to June soursop leaves to a cup of water.
To calm the restless children too wash with a decoction of equal parts fresh leaves and fallen
leaves
Against irritation of the intestines, a small green custard apple cut in half is left to soak for one
hour in 1 or 2 liters of water. A drink after each meal
Maceration soursop leaves in warm water is used as a poultice to relieve burns, type of
sunburn.
The oil obtained by pressing and green soursop leaves is used in friction against neuralgia and
rheumatism, as well as to combat parasites.

Caution and toxicity.
The presence of acetogenins and certain alkaloids are suspected neurotoxicity, urged caution
about regular usage and repeated internally. It is also recommended to avoid it during
pregnancy or nursing, as a precaution.

has the highest caffeine, helps lower the level of sugar in the blood, and protects lungs from damage caused cigarettes consuming. It helps reduce the level of stress hormones in the body and the risk of stroke. Black tea helps fight against osteoporosis.
*White Tea:
fortifies the immune system, it helps to reduce wrinkles (anti-aging). It also helps keeping the teeth healthy by reducing the plaque and the risk of carries dental. One study indicated that white tea has the most effective anticancer properties.
